....Lone Maple Farm began business in September of 1973. The business started with a small tractor and wagon on the side of the road with baskets of apples. Grandpa Harris and Mike Jr. began the business by selling high quality apples at fair prices and providing personalized customer service.
...In 1975, a bigger 4 wheel wagon was used to construct a movable farm market. The wagon was 8 X 12 and had fold down sides. The sides unfolded to provide a slanted display for apples and pears. Grandpa, Mike Sr., Sandy, and Mike Jr. made apple cider with an old hand crank cider press.
...Our first building was constructed and finished in the fall of 1977. Sadly, Grandpa Harris passed away in June of 1977 and never got to see the completion of the farm market. This first building had running water, a cooler, and electricity! The extra space provided a means to display much more product.
...During 1978 to 1981, the business grew by expanding the season from just fall to June to October. Strawberries, sweet corn, summer fruits and vegetables along with all the fall fruits and vegetables expanded our product offering. Lone Maple Farm became known as the place to go for the freshest, highest quality produce.
...The second half of the current market was built in 1982. This additional space was used to display more fruit and vegetables and also new items like jams and jellies and canned goods.
...A greenhouse was constructed in 1985. Our season was expanded to include annuals such as hanging baskets, flower packs, and vegetable plants. Upick apples and Upick pumpkins were also started.
...Our bakery was started in 1988. Pies, cookies, breads, and muffins were baked fresh every day.
...Mike Sr. and Sandy made our first Homemade Ice Cream in 1990. Using only the highest quality ingredients and fruit fruits, Lone Maple Farm quickly became known as the place to go for the best ice cream in town.
...Our current retail greenhouse replaced the old smaller greenhouse in 1995
